Boy’s Life quickly realized they had a winning combination and followed up with a new Slide of the Month by Whittlin Jim (W Ben Hunt)
This slide was easier to make only because it was made out of wood, and was relatively simple, although the antlers were a little difficult
This is a simple carving, but it teaches scouts a lot of skills that continue to build upon the basic as they progressed thru the monthly slides
These articles led to a monthly column in Boy’s Life – The Slide of the Month by Whittlin Jim Column
W Ben Hunt created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle names, and published articles under all three name – Ben Hunt wrote 2-4 articles per month for Boy’s Life, and I think he created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle to make is seem like there were multiple authors writing the articles
