Using leather to make a new harness for snowshoes
The harness is what hold the snowshoes onto your boots
The entire harness could be made from solid leather, but rawhide lacing is used for a big part of the harness
This allows less leather to be used, and also reduces weight, and allows for better drying by not having a completely enclosed harness
