Making small parts that fit together correctly without gaps is actually a lot harder than you would think
So this is a great carving project to teach how to fit pieces together correctly
The small parts allows for mistakes to fixed quickly but recarving just one of the parts to fit the other parts
Great training tool to each different aspects of wood carving
The subject is a mallard, but any duck species could serve as a model, most ducks look the same shape, its the coloring that identifies the species
