A somewhat complicated carving, the core body is easy, but the legs, head and tail add a little complexity, and take more time, but overall nothing on this slide is that difficult
Painting is almost required for the patterns, but carving to outline the patters would really set off the pattern
W Ben Hunt created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle names, and published articles under all three name – Ben Hunt wrote 2-4 articles per month for Boy’s Life, and I think he created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle to make is seem like there were multiple authors writing the articles
