Brenda Kay Carr, age 65 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday morning, December 13, 2015 in Davis Medical Center.

She was born May 3, 1950 at Elkins, a daughter of the late William J. Hinchman and Mary Wiseman Scott.

On December 20, 1965 at Elkins, she was married to Jack Carr who preceded her in death January 10, 2015.

They had been happily and blessed for forty nine years of marriage.

She is survived by one son, Jack Kevin Carr and wife Anita of Norton, one daughter, Jacqueline Williams and husband Kevin of Morgantown.

Four brothers, Dale Hinchman and wife Lynette of Norton, Lawrence Hinchman and wife Kim of Elkins, Greg Hinchman and wife Marie of Elkins and Jack Hinchman of Harrisonburg, VA and two sisters, Susan White of Elkins and Marion Dennis of Charleston, WV.

Seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her beloved dog Baby also survive.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers in law, Stephen White and Willie Dennis.

Brenda graduated with an Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Psychology from Davis and Elkins College and a Master’s degree in Agency Counseling from Marshall Graduate School.

She was retired from the West Virginia Children’s Home where she had worked as a counselor and was a member of the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The family would like to thank Marie Larick who was her caretaker for the past few months and to Kim Rugemer and Shelba Lowe for their care.

Brenda’s request for cremation will be honored.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Brenda Kay Carr.
