Bruce G Wells, 73, of Concord Street, Clarksburg, departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at the Veterans’ Hospital in Aspinwall, Pa, following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Charleston, the son of the late Idon Wells and May Cecil Wells.

He wife, Frances “Patty” Rolland Wells, whom he married June 5, 1954, survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Bruce R.

Wells and wife, Tammy, of Elkins, Mark E.

Wells of Clarksburg and Tim G. Wells and wife, Tonia, of Clarksburg; one daughter, Jayne Stout and husband, Jim, of Clarksburg; and five grandchildren, Kenneth Weekley, Chad Wells, Corey Wells, Tyler Wells and Madison Wells.

Mr. Wells was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston and received his bachelor’s degree in business from West Virginia University.

He was a purchasing agent and retired from AFG.

Mr. Wells was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of the Elks Club and served as past exalted ruler and past district deputy, was a member of the Clarksburg Rotary and was the former past president of the Clarksburg Country Club.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg.

Mr. Wells enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

At Mr. Wells’ request, there will be no public visitation.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Wells’ memory to the charity of choice.
