Bruce Vance, 83, a resident of Harman, passed from this life Friday November 29, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born Thursday, July 10, 1930 in Roaring Creek, a son of the late Asa Vance and Florence Morral Vance. Left to cherish Bruce’s memory are one son, Christopher Vance of Harman and four grandchildren that he raised as his own, Connie Cottrell of Elkins, Mike Butcher of Elkins, Terry Butcher of Harman and Susie Lambert of Bemis, two brothers, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, nine great great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren. Preceding Bruce in death was his wife, Connie White Vance, six brothers, one sister and one grandson, Kenneth “Slug” Butcher. Bruce attended the schools of Pendleton County and was self employed as a logger. He enjoyed running heavy equipment, attending auctions and watching Hee Haw. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 11 AM until 1PM, the funeral hour. Reverend Harvey Vance will officiate and interment will follow at the Smith Cemetery in Job.
