CHARLES GLENN “SPIDER” WHITE, age 65 years, a resident of the Pheasant Run Community, Kerens, WV departed this life early Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009 at the Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health since 1994.

He was born Thursday, February 10, 1944 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Charley White and Marcella White. On December 2, 1962 at South Carolina he was married to the former Hilda Kate Smith who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kevin Glen White and wife Debbie, Parsons; Travis Charles White, Elkins; one daughter, G. Lynn Vandevander and husband Greg, Kerens; one brother, David A. White and wife Ann, Philippi; one sister, Carolyn M. Plum and husband Jack, Hambleton; six grandchildren, Cory, Emily, Ethan, Karsyn, Miranda and Willow.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, Mitchell and Michael “Hair-bear” White.

He attended the schools of Randolph and Tucker Counties, and was a union construction worker with Local # 984 at Clarksburg. He was an avid reader and was noted for his famous Spider Chili. He attended the Refuge Church at Gilman.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 PM, Saturday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 1 PM. The Reverend Kevin Gainer will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, West Virginia.
