Carl J. Sinsel, age 73 of Sherrodsville, died peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2012, in his home following a period of declining health. A son of the late Carl and Devonia (Cox) Sinsel, Carl was born on May 14, 1939 at Barbour County, West Virginia. He completed his formal education with Liberty Bible College at Lynchburg, Virginia and spent a number of years as a minister and musician. Carl maintained an active nursing home and evangelist ministry and enjoyed playing the guitar and sharing songs he personally wrote as provided the Gospel to others. Additionally, Carl was an avid Bible reader and a Gold Club member of the Christian Broadcasting Network. His other enjoyments included watching classic western movies and spending as much time with his family as his schedule would allow. He is survived by his wife, the former Carolyn S. Rennicker-sinsel whom he married on July 3, 1994; five children, Carl B. (Sara) Sinsel of Farmington, West Virginia, Kimberly S. (Eddie) Paugh of Belington, West Virginia, John E. (Mary) Sinsel of Philippi, West Virginia, Christina L. Colombo also of Philippi, West Virginia; and Robert (companion, Betsy Metcalf) Rennicker of Gnadenhutten. Ten grandchildren, his beloved dogs Blondie and Scooter, and numerous friends complete the family. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Norma W. Payne and a granddaughter, Candiss Sinsel. The family will receive guests on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Linn-hert-geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with Pastor Larry Stitt leading a brief devotional beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the Stemple and Forman Funeral Home at Philippi, West Virginia at 11 AM with the family greeting guests one hour prior to services from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery.
