Carla Eugenia “Jean” Finlen Weese, age 87 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Saturday evening November 14, 2020 at West Virginia Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Thursday, August 26, 1933 at Cassity, WV, a daughter of the late Ray and Hazel Watts Finlen.

On March 30, 1953 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Ronald Neil Weese, who preceded her in death July 23, 2012.

They had celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage.

Surviving are one son, Clifford Ray Weese and wife Sherry Lee of Elkins; two daughters, Mary Jo Moyer and Hazel Ann Weese, both of Elkins; six grandchildren, Carla and husband Shawn Keller, Heather and husband Willie Howell, Justin Moyer, Nikki and husband David Valentine, April and husband Evan Bacorn and Amanda and husband Justin Maggard; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Fred, Clifford and James Finlen; four sisters, Naomi Zirkle, Rhonda Duckworth, Vanessa Jenkins and Hannah Kelley.

She attended the schools of Cassity.

She was a member of the Believers Fellowship at Montrose, where she was very active.

She thought of her church family as though they were family.

She was a former employee of Nella’s Nursing Home as a CNA and in housekeeping.

In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, making no sew quilts, and especially she enjoyed crocheting.

Jean loved going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Saturday November 21, 2020 from 11 AM to 12 Noon.

Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 Noon.

The Reverend Terry Cannon will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.

As we continue to follow the CDC guidelines, social distancing as well as masks will be required for those in attendance.
