Carman Dennis Pennington 1958-2021 Obituary
Carman Dennis Pennington, Sr. age 62 years, a resident of Elkins, WV, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 11, 2021 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, surrounded by his loving family. He was in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born Wednesday, December 13, 1958 at Elkins, WV, a son of the late Odis Daniel and Della Virginia Weese Pennington. On February 4, 1989 at Elkins, WV, he was married to the former Terri Lynn McIntyre, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Frank Pennington and Vicki of Valley Bend; two sons, Carman Pennington, Jr. with Paige Rutter and Amelia Pennington and Shawn Pennington, all of Elkins; two daughters, Brandy Coffman and Zora Pennington, both of Elkins; grandchildren, Grayson Coffman, MacKenzie Arbuthnot, S.J. Pennington, Bentley Pennington, Freya Pennington; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are several brothers and sisters and half-brothers and half-sisters.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1978. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Career and Technical Education in 2004, and finishing with a Master’s Degree in Education in 2007. He was a former employee of Mountaineer Motors as a collision repairman for twenty years. He retired from the Randolph County Board of Education as a Collision Repair Instructor for eighteen years. He was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Elkins. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, traveling and most of all spending time with family. He dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
