CATHERINE BLAIR LAMBERT “CAT” FENSTERMAKER, age 73 years, a resident of Mill Creek, WV serenaded by angels to heaven Thursday afternoon, August 18, 2011 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, WV. Death was attributed to Leukemia.
She was born Tuesday, February 8, 1938 at Elk Mountain, WV a daughter of the late Chester L. and Leafie Bennett Lambert. On April 30, 1960 at Monterey, VA she was married to George Monroe Fenstermaker Sr., who preceded her in death on January 12, 1997.
Surviving are seven children, John A. Lambert and wife Eva, Circleville; Rita F. Moss and husband Kent, Elkins; Bonnie G. Wood and husband Randy; and Betty J. Fenstermaker, all of Mill Creek; Judy A. Balducci and husband Steve, Beaver Creek; Georgia L. Holbert and husband Travis, Jimtown; George M. Fenstermaker, Jr. and wife Kathy, Elkins; one brother, Harold Lambert and wife Ruth, Elk Mountain; four sisters, Sylvia Mullennax and husband Bud, Durbin; Bronda Vandevander, Arbovale; Barbara Riggleman and husband Bob, Fairborn, OH; Helen Taylor and husband Delmar, Mill Creek; eleven grandchildren, Jason; Christopher; Michael; Matthew; Courtney; Jacob; Lindsay; Joshua; Andrew; Aron; and Dillon and three great grandchildren, Autumn; Donald; and Sabrina. .
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Gale; Glenn; and Harlan Lambert; one sister, Virginia Lantz; and one granddaughter, Rachael.
Catherine attended the schools of Pendleton County and retired in 2000 from the Randolph County Board of Education with twenty years of service. She loved spending time with her children; grandchildren; and great grandchildren as well as her dog “Lacy”. She enjoyed walking, gardening and was a noted cook.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Sunday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Pastor Marshall R. Williams and Pastor C. Frank Stanley will officiate and interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville, WV.
