Catherine “Kaye” Leona Keister Nestor, age 78 years, a resident of the Clover Run Community, Parsons, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2021, at the WVU Medicine United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, WV, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Tuesday, April 13, 1943, at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Roy Jennings Keister and Margaret Alice Stevens Keister. On April 5, 1958, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Donald Ray “Toot” Nestor, who preceded her in death September 9, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Roy “Frosty” Nestor and companion Sue Carol of Parsons, and Jeffery Lane Nestor and wife Charity of Augusta, WV; four daughters, Pamela Jo Waugh and husband James of Clover Run, Mary Alice Knotts and husband Craig of Hedgesville, Teresa Diane Surock and husband Eric of Mt. Claire and Nancy Ann Simpson and husband Thomas of Clover Run; daughter-in-law, Teresa Nestor of Clover Run; one brother, Frank Keister of Petersburg; one sister, Blanche Zabielski of FL; she was blessed with ten grandchildren, Christopher, Mindy, Kimberly, Travis, Daniel, Josh, Gracie, Brandon, Erin and Kylie; five step-grandchildren, Adam, Krista, LJ, Amanda and Victoria; five great grandchildren, Hunter, Levi, Cole, Rose and J.J., (Grandma Loved You All So Much!) Special friends, Donna and George Hunt, JoAnn Sponaugle, Wildie and David Strahin, and Jeanette Bishoff; special nephew, Ronnie Lipscomb, and several other nieces and nephews. She thought the world of her family and her friends and her neighbors.
Preceding her in death are one son, Kelly Ray Nestor, and an infant son; one brother, Jack Keister; four sisters, Ruby Lipscomb, Betty Jones, Mary Jones and Marie Keister.
She attended the schools of Tucker County. She retired in 2008 from Walmart. Following her retirement, she began working with her family in their family business, Surock Monument Co. She loved the family reunions and going to the Bluegrass Festival in Parsons. She was always thinking of everyone else’s needs, before her own, and she would do anything that she could to help you out. She loved going to church and quilting classes with her daughter, Nancy. Kay will be missed by all who knew her and especially her sense of humor, beautiful smile and contagious laugh.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11 AM. Rev. Kevin Hostetler will officiate and internment will follow at the Nestor Family Cemetery at Clover Run.
