Catherine Lee (Nicholson) Wine 1934-2017 Obituary
Catherine Lee (Nicholson) Wine, 83, of Copen, WV passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV.
She was born March 26, 1934 in Gem, WV to the late Carl Lee Nicholson and Mary Virginia (Heater) Nicholson. Also, preceding her in death was her husband, Elmer Gail Wine, who passed September 16, 2011 and sons, Stanley G Wine and Michael Wine.
She is survived by sons, Steve Wine (Pam) of Burnsville, Mark Wine (Suzie) of Burnsville and John Wine (Becky) of Buckhannon; daughters, Mary Mace (David) of Burnsville, Linda Fincham (Bobby) of Clarksburg and Nancy Skinner (Mark) of Copen. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Jared and Jessica Mace of Burnsville, Christopher Wine of Burnsville, Christine (Eric) Jackson of Jane Lew, Brandon Wine of Cedarville, Lori (Mark) Hainaut of Burnsville, Nicholas Wine of Pittsburg, Jason Wine of Burnsville, Brittany Blake (Brandon) of Burnsville, Stephanie Smyth (Adam) of Sutton, Quinton Wine of Burnsville, Amanda White (Greg) of Orlando, Matthew Finchman of Fairmont, Melanie Raynor (Frances) of Duck, Ashley Hartman (Josh) of Fairmont and Katie Wine of Buckhannon; 11 great grandchildren and another one on the way. Also surviving is brother, Lewis Nicholson (Mabel) of Madison, OH.
Catherine was a graduate of the Burnsville Class of 1952. She was a member of the Church of God of Burnsville and loved hearing the gospel preached by Pastor Eddie Barker.
She was very devoted to her family and friends and would help anyone that was in need. She took her friends to the Doctor when they weren’t able to drive. She was well known for her delicious chili and cornbread. She loved her family, friends and church and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 5-8 pm at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Eddie Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
