Catherine Whitescarver 1915-2003 Obituary
Catherine Mae “Katy” Whitescarver, 88, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at her home.
She was born April 6, 1915, at Weston, a daughter of the late Addis and marjorie Strader Kiddy. She was united in marriage to J.F. “Deck” Whitescarver, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1988.
Surviving are two sons, Robert D. Whitescarver and wife, Pat, Gastonia, N.C., and David L. Whitescarver and wife, Ruth, Wexford, Pa.; one daughter, Karen Westfall and husband, David, West Monroe, La.; six grandchildren, Stephen Whitescarver, Diana Whitescarver Sowers, Barbara Westfall Powell, Michael Westfall, Eugene Whitescarver and Mark Whitescarver; eight great-grandchildren and a special caregiver, Marie Morgan. Also, many thanks to Susie Bender for the special help she has given to our mother.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ruth Thurman Circle, a member and past Worthy Matron of Chapter 18 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery. Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements for Catherine Mae “Katy” Whitescarver.
