Charles James Moore, 78, a resident of Valley Head, passed from this life Saturday evening, May 4, 2013, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. Charles was born Wednesday, March 20, 1935 in Mill Creek, a son of the late Grover Cleveland Moore and Meady Alice Collins Moore. On January 30, 1954, he was married to the former Idell Louise Taylor who preceded him in death July, 28, 2005. Left to cherish Charles’ memory are his two daughters, Sue Lindsay and husband, Kenneth, of Valley Head, and Diana Long and husband, Chip, of Belington, one foster daughter, Kelly Davenport Taylor of Huttonsville, one foster son/grandson, Shane Davenport of Beckley, one brother, Roy Lee Moore and wife, Ruth, of Mabie, five grandchildren, Tim Lindsay and wife, Shannon of Montrose, Chastity Arbogast and husband, Jed of Valley Head, Melissa Case and husband, Patrick of Gassaway, Mark Long and wife, Wendy of Philippi and Tonya Long and companion, Beaver Stewart of Belington, two foster grandsons, Charles Pritt and Christopher Pritt, eleven great grandchildren, Whitney, Jonathan, Makahla, Ian, Laasha, Mitchell, Marcus, Mason, Addie, Talon, and Griffin, and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by one son, Marshall Woodrow Moore, six sisters, Hazel Barb, Ethel Brewer, Angel Moore, Becky Moore, and twin infants, and seven brothers, Lawrence, Ed, Perry, Francis, Russell, Denzil, and Albert. Charles attended the schools of Randolph County. He had worked in the woods and drove truck for Patsy Ross, Carl Daniels, and Hayes Scott, and he had worked in Pennsylvania with Fluid Energy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and laughing and joking with family and friends. He had attended the Tygart Valley Independent Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 5 until 7PM, at which time a funeral service will be held. Rev. Marshall Williams will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11AM at the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville.
