Charles Lee Watson, 82, a resident of Rudd Road, in Valley Bend, passed from this life Tuesday morning, August 6, 2013 at the Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Elkins surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born Wednesday, August 27, 1930 in Beverly, a son of the late Perry Russell Watson and Annie Oxley Watson. On October 18, 1951, he married the love of his life, Pansy Lou McCauley Watson who preceded him in death on November 1, 2010. Left to cherish Charles’ memory are two daughters, Betty Arbogast and husband, Allen of Beverly, and Charlotte Warder and husband, Kim of Valley Bend, four sons, Roger L. Watson, Sr. and wife, Karen of Valley Bend, Bob Watson and wife, Cheryl of Norton, Freddy Watson and wife Margie of Beverly, and Danny Watson and wife, Lou of Valley Bend, sixteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by five sisters, Grace Shifflett, Ora Griffith, Margie Delauder, Bessie Ramsey, and Eunice Raines, seven brothers, Donald Watson, Ronald Watson, Willie Watson, Lewis Watson, Richard Watson, Arnold Watson, and Everett Watson, one great granddaughter, Abbigayle Paige Pennington, and one great grandson, Allen Lee “AJ” Arbogast, Jr. Charles attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked at several local sawmills including Coastal Lumber. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ginsenging, pitching horseshoes, but he truly loved his wife and spending time with his grandchildren and picking on them. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home and Cremations Services on Thursday from 6PM until 8PM. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1PM. Reverend S. Kent Price will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
