Clarence O’Dell, 82, of Ireland, the Bablin Ingo Road, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon.

Mr. O’Dell was born May 28, 1919, in Nettie, in Nicholas County, a son of the late Wesley and Nettie Whitman O’Dell.

He married Jean Bleigh O’Dell, who survives in Ireland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by an uncle, Newman Whitman, Summersville.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Chester O’Dell.

Mr. O’Dell attended the Elijah Chapel United Methodist Church at Bablin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He had worked at Weston Laundry and Dry Cleaners and retired from the Weston State Hospital. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Weston, a member of the American Legion Post 4 of Weston and a lifetime member of the DAV

Friends will be received at Alkire Funeral Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Smailes officiating. Interment will follow in McCutchan Chapel.
