Clifford “Doc” Rollins, died August 26, 2013 at his residence in Palm City, FL. He was born April 11, 1931 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Harold and Thelma George Rollins where he was also raised. He graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School and went on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He completed his Masters at Florida Atlantic, and doctorate at West Virginia University. He worked in the Martin County School System until 1993, where he held several different positions as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent before retirement. He taught and coached at Liberty Union in Baltimore, Ohio and was a college professor at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon. He spent a total of 37 years as an educator. He was a past president of the Boys and Girls Club and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, and Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor recreations. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Douglas. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Becky Hinkle, of Buckhannon; sons Jim and his wife Mary, of Stuart, FL and Tim Rollins and wife Laura of Belington, WV; brother, John Rollins; sister, Linda Coyner of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Jeffrey Hinkle of Buckhannon, Andrew Rollins of Belington and Fred Caimotto of Stuart; four granddaughters, Kerri Hinkle of Buckhannon, Kacey Hinkle of Montrose, WV, Keely Burnside and husband Josh of Buckhannon and Ally Caimotto of Stuart; Four great grandsons, Trevor, Spencer, Jay and Anson and one great granddaughter, Quinn. Clifford loved his family as well as all he came in contact with. Friends will be received Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
