Clifford Ray McKim, 100, a former resident of 303 Sycamore St., Elkins, and since 1980 a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., departed this life at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the La Vida Llena Nursing Home at Albuquerque, N.M. He had been in declining health for the past two weeks.

He was born Friday, Jan. 24, 1902, in Tennessee, a son of the late Robert Comar McKim and Clara Ethel Bloom McKim.

On June 6, 1935, at Elkins, he was married to the former Mary Virginia Patterson, who preceded him in death on June 12, 1980.

Surviving are two sons, James R. “Jim” McKim and wife, Mary, Albuquerque, N.M., and Daniel P. McKim and wife, Carol Ann, Springfield, Va.; one brother, Charles T. McKim and wife, Betty, Oakton, Va.; four grandchildren, Stephanie A. Current and husband, Rod, San Diego, Calif., Matthew R. McKim and wife, Karalisa, and Marcia West and husband, Matthew, all of Albuquerque, N.M., and David McKim, Springfield, Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Danielle N. Current, Ryan K. Current and Heather Mari Current, all of San Diego, Calif., and Kassidy E. McKim, Albuquerque, N.M.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one infant sister

Mr. McKim worked as an administrative assistant for the U.S. Forest Service for 44 years, retiring in 1965. He was the author of the book “History of the Monongahela National Forest” and was a member of Saint Brendan Catholic Church.

Cremation services were provided by French Mortuary at Albuquerque, N.M. A gathering of friends will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home. A memorial liturgy of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Brendan Catholic Church. The Rev. Father William Anderson will be the presider and interment of the cremains was at Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins.
