Cora May Linger, age 89 of Philippi, WV died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born August 24, 1920 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late John and Opal Spore Exline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ophie Linger who died May 22, 1974 and six brothers. She is survived by four sons, Ophie Junior Linger and wife Betty of Buckhannon, WV, James Linger and wife Sarah, Ronnie Linger and wife Carolyn and Jerry Allen Linger, all of Philippi; two daughters, Betty Linger of Philippi and Catherine Lattea and husband Dana of Camden, WV; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and two sisters, Martha Hiney of Linn, WV and Anna Mae Robinson of Buckhannon. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM, Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
