Daniel Nelson Booth 1955-2002 Obituary

Daniel Nelson Booth, 46, of Island Avenue, Buckhannon was pronounced dead at approximately noon Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at Stonewall Jackson Regional Hospital in Weston.

Mr. Booth was manager and part owner of the Buckhannon Dairy Queen. He was a lifelong Buckhannon resident, born Dec. 4, 1955, and baptized into the Hampton Methodist Church on Aug. 18, 1974.

He was a graduate of the Buckhannon-upshur High School and attended Fairmont State College, where he was on the dean’s list and belonged to the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

For 19 years, Mr. Booth was married to the former Emily Kay Malcolm. He was preceded in death by his father, Ford Booth, who died Feb. 23, 1994.

He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Booth of Buckhannon; his mother, Betty Goss Booth of Buckhannon; two sisters, Linda Booth Cornett, Virginia Beach, Va., and Mary Ann Booth Spears of Greensboro, N.C.; two nieces, Vanessa Cornett-murtada, Mebane, N.C., and Amy Layne Tilson of Morgantown; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. Graveside services for the family will be on Sunday at the Heavner Cemetery, with personal friend, the Rev. Billy Scott Mick, presiding.
