Darlene Mae Pudder McCune, 64, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life Friday, January 22, 2021, at home surrounded by family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Darlene was born Tuesday, February 7 1956, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Arnold Kenneth Pudder and Edna Mae McCauley Pudder. On July 31, 1973, in Mill Creek, she married Grant “Junior” McCune that preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are two children, Grant Junior McCune II and wife, Melissa, and Katina Marie McCune, two grandchildren, Matthew McCune and fiancé Sarah Simmons and Walker McCune and girlfriend, Sierra Channell, five siblings, Arnold Pudder and wife Wanda, Randy Pudder and wife Ruth, Luetta Johnston and husband Jerry, Cathy Midthun, and Ethel Mueller, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Darlene in death besides her parents and husband were five siblings, Delmas, Junior, and Andy Pudder, Linda Huser, and Nancy Barnickle, and one grandson, Dennis Grant McCune.
Darlene enjoyed hunting with her husband and collecting items with an American Indian motif. She loved reading the bible, singing gospel songs, and attending church. Darlene was a member of Markley Chapel in Huttonsville.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville at 1:00 pm. As we continue following guidelines from the CDC and Gov. Jim Justice, we will observe social distancing and the use of facial coverings.
