Darryl W. Roy, age 60 years, a resident of Harman, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home under the care of Mountain Hospice. He was born February 5, 1961 at Elkins, a son of Peggy White Roy Mullennex who survives at Harman and the late George “Sammy” Roy. On September 19, 1987 at Job, he was married to Stephanie D. Ours who survives. Aso surviving are two sons, Ethan W. Roy and wife Sara of Morgantown, WV and Heath J. Roy of Elkins; one brother, Sammy Roy and wife Angie of Whitmer; and two sisters, Debra Wyatt and husband Christopher of Harman and Tammy Wolford and husband Don of Dry Fork. Also surviving is one niece, Courtney Roy, one nephew, Ellis Wyatt, father and mother-in-law, Neil and Marlene Ours. Also preceding him in death was his step-father, David J. Mullennex. Darryl was a graduate of Harman High School and was a Foreman for Asplundh Tree Experts where he worked for over thirty-nine years prior to his retirement. He was a former Assistant Chief of the Harman Volunteer Fire Department and a former volunteer for the Randolph County EMS. He had coached the Harman Little Panthers Basketball Team and was a member of the Job Church of God where he had been a Teen Class Sunday School Teacher. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the White Cemetery at Lower Dam with Pastor Todd Rhodes officiating. A brief viewing will be held at the gravesite and interment will follow. Masks and social distancing is required for anyone attending the service. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Darryl W. Roy.
