This datasheet is from fairchild, Technically part of the 6800 family, it can be used by just about an microcontroller and is the main video chip still available from the 8-bit era, and is very popular in the retro=computer world
It might be the best video chip commonly available from the 8-bit era, but it still not a great, it requires a lot of chips to get full functionality, but it is from the right time period, and it works
