Mr. David Leon “Chipper” Long age 42, a resident of Belington went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 7, 2010 at his residence.

He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

He was born February 24, 1968 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Jerold Long and the late Ruby Genevieve (Taylor) Long.

In 1993 he was united in marriage to the former Carmen Hammonds who resides at their home in Belington.

Children surviving include Sarah, Amber, and Josh Long all of Belington.

Siblings surviving include five brothers, Jerald Hugh Long and wife Linda of Belington, Gordon Long and wife Debbie of Cabins, James (Randy) Long of Belington, Daniel Long and wife Karen of Parsons, and Arie Long and wife Jan of Davis, WV., two sisters Elizabeth Snyder and husband Roger of Montrose, and Rebecca Hedrick of Beverly, nieces include Jeannie Long, Jennifer Snyder, and Regina Hedrick; nephews include Michael, Benjamin, and Timothy Snyder.

Mr. Long attended the schools of Randolph County, had been employed at different jobs before becoming disabled.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, digging ramps and talking on the trading post.

Friends may call at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 11am-1:30pm on Wednesday November 10, 2010 with funeral services being conducted from the funeral home chapel at 1:30pm with the Pastor Judith Flynn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be deposited in a fund that has been established at Freedom Bank in Belington to help the family with final expenses.

The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. David Leon “Chipper” Long.
