Delmas “Del” L. McCauley, Sr., 76, of Lordstown, entered peacefully into eternal life with his family at his side on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 1:15 a.m. in his home under the comforting care of hospice.
Delmas was born April 2, 1942 in Wendell, West Virginia, the son of the late Tucker and Amanda Kimble McCauley.

A General Motors retiree, Delmas worked for 33 years and retired in 1999 as a supervisor in the final process and trim department. 

He and his wife also were the proud owners of Café 534 and the DD Drive Thru in Newton Falls for many years. 

He was a social member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1234 in Ravenna and also the former Niles Loyal Order of the Moose.  Delmas was also a social member of the VFW Post 3332 and AMVETS Post 112 in Newton Falls. He was a member of the Lake Milton Hunt & Fish Club and the Mosquito Bowman Club. 
Delmas was an avid hunter and fisherman both in Ohio and in his roots of West Virginia where he owned hunting property. Every now and then, Delmas enjoyed trying his luck with scratch offs and an occasional trip to the casino. He also enjoyed participating in car shows with his 1959 Buick and 2002 Trans Am
Delmas and his family were longtime members of the former Christ Our King Catholic Church in Warren and now belong to St. John Paul II Parish in Warren.

Delmas was married on January 5, 1964 to the former Doris L. Jeeter and they have been married for the last 54 years; together they shared the love of two children, Delmas L. McCauley, Jr. of Lordstown and Carrie E. (Jeff) Shevetz of Lordstown; four grandchildren, Michael and Brittany McCauley and Isabella and Jake Shevetz and two great-granddaughters, Autumn and Isla Groth.  He is also survived by three sisters, Lucille (Lou) Lubawski of Newton Falls, Carolyn Sturgill of Baltimore, Maryland and Mary Jane (Al) DeMarkantonio of Whitemarsh, Maryland; a brother-in-law, Sam (Judy) Jeeter of Oldsfield, West Virginia and a sisters-in-law, Rose (Burt) Hemelt of Baltimore, Maryland, Louvenia McCauley and Deloris McCauley of North Carolina.

Besides his parents, Delmas was preceded in death by brothers, Kenny, Junior, James, Leonard, Ivan and Darrel McCauley and by two sisters, Jackie and Gladys McCauley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Paul II Parish with Fr. Christopher Henyk as Celebrant. 

Entombment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

The family request that memorial contributions be made in Delmas’ name to either the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
