Dewey Lee Jackson, 82, a resident of Coalton, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born May 6, 1920, in Pocahontas County, a son of the late William Burton and Elvie Thomas Jackson.

He was their eldest son and the second of five children.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. James (Karen) Dittmore, Mrs. Deane (Darlena) Martinez, Mrs. John (Sandra) Sikora, Mrs. Edward (Francia) Overdorf and Mrs. Michael (Beverly) Henderham, all of Canton, Ohio; three sons, Dewey “Dave” L. Jackson Jr., William R. and wife, Brenda Jackson, and Michael Jackson Braghieri, all of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Cuyler (Marie) Teter of Coalton; several nieces, Kathy Beahm, Mrs. John (Linda) Wood, Mrs. Robert (Terry) Broschart, Mrs. Dave (Debbie) Rowan and Mrs. Roger (Jody) Kimble, all from the Coalton and Elkins areas, and Judy Jackson of Florida; several nephews, Kenneth and wife, Teresa Pomp, of Belington, David and wife, Nancy Sturdivant, of Elkins, Melvin and Norman Haney of Medina, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were one daughter, Marilyn Waugh; two sisters, Virginia Haney and Georgia Pomp; one brother, Victor Jackson; and his ex-wife, Lois Jackson Braghieri.

Mrs. Jackson will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was a retired school bus driver from the Randolph County Board of Education.

Friends may call at Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating.

Interment will follow at Elkins Memorial Gardens.
