Donald E. “Ed” Riffle 1940-2021 Obituary

Donald E. “Ed” Riffle, age 80 years, a resident of Coalton, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice.
He was born March 24, 1940 at Junior, a son of the late Junior W. Riffle and Elma Wiseman Riffle.
On May 18, 1957 at Baltimore, MD he was married to Iris Joan Mace who preceded him in death March 31, 2011.

Surviving are three sons, Jonathan “Jon” Riffle, Sr. of Coalton, and fiancée Tammy Fortney,
Brian “David” Riffle and wife Nadine of Coalton and Donald “Duck” Riffle of Coalton; one daughter,
Roxanna Bartelli and husband Jeffery of Norton; two brothers, Alva “Buck” Riffle of Junior and
Robert “Jocko” Riffle of Belington; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his special friend and fishing buddy,

Rick Hayes of Elkins also survive. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Randall and Terry Riffle;
two sisters, Julie Daughtery and Dorothy Davis; one brother, Roger Riffle;
a daughter-in-law, Peggy Jean Riffle; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and his companion of six years, Carolyn Williams.

Ed had worked as a Coalminer at Bethlehem Steel prior to his retirement. He loved traveling to Nashville, TN, the Wheeling Jamboree, fishing and gardening.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown.

Pastor Carl Weasonforth will officiate and interment will follow.
The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Donald Edward “Ed” Riffle.
