Donald Wilson, 86, a resident of Route 4, Mansfield Addition, Philippi, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.

He was born Aug. 3, 1917, at Taylor Drain, Barbour County, the son of the late George R. and Lillie C. Phillips Wilson.

He was united in marriage on Nov. 23, 1949, to the former Glenna Finnelle, who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1959.

Surviving are two sisters, Sevva Stone of St. Charles, Mo., and Virginia Proudfoot of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, June Price.

Mr. Wilson was a retired construction worker. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 175, 132 Operating Engineers, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3560.

He was a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Mary’s Chapel Cemetery with American Legion Post No. 44 conducting military rites. Wright Funeral Home service.
