Donnie Ray Sharp 1950-2002

Donnie Ray Sharp, 51, formerly of Mill Creek, and more recently of Camden, S.C., died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, in Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, S.C., where he had been a patient since Dec. 23, 2001.

Mr. Sharp was born Dec. 2, 1950, in Mill Creek, a son of the late Russell and Grace Arbogast Sharp.

He married the former Patricia Vaudrin, who survives in Camden, S.C.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Stephanie) Porter, Elgin, S.C.; three sons, Joe Clark, Camden, S.C., William Clark, Florence, S.C., and John Clark, Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, Ronald Jr., Keith, Kevin and Amy Porter; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sharp was a disabled veteran and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He had been employed at Wal-mart as a welcome host, but due to illness had to take early retirement.

Graveside services were held at Mountain State Memorial Gardens today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin E. Hostetler of the Word of Life Ministries of Parsons officiating. Interment followed. Full military rites were accorded at the gravesite by Tygart Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion. F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
