Donovan P. Murphy, 63, a resident of 105 Byrer St., Philippi, passed away Wedneaday, Oct. 30, in Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
He was born Sept. 7, 1939, at Arden, the son of the late Fax B. Murphy and M. Ruth Cross Murphy of 105 Byrer St., Philippi.
Also surviving are four aunts, one being Audra C. Murphy of Philippi; and several cousins, one being Stanis F. Martin of Rivesville.
He was preceded in death by one aunt, Evelyn J. Cross.
Mr. Murphy attended Alderson-broaddus College. He was formerly employed as an X-ray technician at the West Virginia University Medical Center in Morgantown.
He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
