Doral Lee Carr, 77, a resident of Hendricks, passed from this life Monday afternoon, April 16, 2012 at the Garrett County Hospital in Oakland, MD. He had been in declining health. He was born Monday, December 17, 1934 at Hendricks, a son of the late Tennis Lee Carr and Pansy Ellen Bright Carr. On May 23, 1956 at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former June Ann Good who survives at Hendricks. Doral attended the schools of Tucker County, had served with the United States Army, had worked as a bus driver for the Tucker County School System, and had worked for the telephone company for many years having retired from Contel Telephone Company as General Manager. He was a member of the Hendricks Ruritan Club, the Pythagoras Lodge #128, the Board of Directors at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, and Riverview Chapel. Others surviving Doral are two sons, Gary Lee Carr of Parsons and Curtis Dean Carr and wife Alicia of Buckhannon, two granddaughters, Graci Erin Carr and Rylee Saige Carr, five siblings, Carol Simmons of Hambleton, Danny Carr and wife, Phyllis, of Parsons, Zetta Fansler and husband, Allen, of Hambleton, Philip Carr and wife, Kittie, of Elkins, and Hoye Lynn Carr and wife, Shirley, of Parsons, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was one brother in law, Lloyd Simmons. Visitation will be held at the Summerfield Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM. On Friday, April 20, 2012, Doral will be moved to Riverview Chapel where friends may call from 10 AM until 11AM, the funeral hour. The Reverend James Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery. Members of the Tucker County Veterans Association will present the American Flag. Memorial contributions may be made in Doral’s memory to Cortland Acres Nursing Home, 39 Cortland Acres Lane, Thomas, WV 26292.
