DOROTHY PAULINE MOATS Dorothy Pauline Moats, 83, of Moatsville, died late Friday evening, September 7, 2012, in Mansfield Place, following an extended illness. She was born September 4, 1929 at Grafton, a daughter of the late Roy Herman and Edna Ethel (Arnold) Sheets. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Durbin Moore and by her second husband, Carl George Moats. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Morris and husband, Paul, Philippi; two sons, Larry A. Moore and wife, Dorcas, Philippi and Jason A. Moats and wife, Elizabeth, Moatsville; two brothers, John Sheets, Grafton and Roy Herbert Sheets, Vacaville, Calif., eight grandchildren, Justin Moore, Sheena Moore, Kelly Bailey, Tracy Tramonte, Angela Annon, Ashley Chapman, Richard Finley and Rebekah Morris; one step-grandson, Scott Gillis; eleven great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Rosemary Bordenski, Susan Saltis, Lillian Murray and Mildred Boyce and by three brothers, Roy “Junior” Sheets, Richard William Sheets and Thomas Alfred Sheets. Mrs. Moats was a homemaker and farm wife and had been employed as a sewing machine operator at Grafton Manufacturing. She attended the Moatsville Free Gospel Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 9, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi, W.Va. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the England Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M., the funeral hour on Sunday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
