Dorsey W. Dee Humphreys 1917-2002 Obituary
Dorsey W. “Dee” Humphreys, 85, a resident of 130 South Walnut St., Philippi, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 25, 1917, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Frank B. and Ella R. Wilmoth Humphreys.
He was united in marriage in 1944 to the former Norma Haddix, who preceded him in death on June 8, 1998.
Surviving are four sons, Paul Haddix, Charleston, Russell Dale Humphreys, Hubbard, Ohio, Roger W. Humphreys, Cleveland, Ohio, and Larry B. Humphreys, Philippi; two sisters, Ada Hawley, Arlington, Va., and Jessie Bloom, Grafton; one brother, Russell Humphreys, Philippi; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Humphreys; one sister and three brothers.
He was a retired coal miner, having been employed by Johnson Coal Co. at Meridan.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ronald D. Kennedy Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
