DORSEY WILLIAM BILL STREETS 1938-2010 Obituary

DORSEY WILLIAM “BILL” STREETS, age 72 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Wednesday evening, December 15, 2010 at the Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Elkins, WV.

He was born Saturday, February 5, 1938 at Brushy Fork in Tucker County, a son of the late John William Streets and May Godwin Streets. On December 10, 1965 at Texas he was married to the former Margaret Harris Streets, who survives. They had celebrated 45 years of marriage. Surviving are two sons, Artie Frank Buckholz, Texas and James William Streets, Elkins. Three step sons: Robert Martin Buckholz, Elkins, Randy Buckholz, and Terry Allen Buckholz all from Wisconsin. One daughter: Tammy Lynn McDowell, SC. One step daughter: Debra Ann Walters, Wisconsin. One brother: Cecil Junior Streets, MD. Two sisters: Dora Jean Poling, Elkins, and Patty Sue Snyder, TN; Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one son: Kenny Dale Streets, two brothers: Robert Dale Streets and Asa “Sonny” Streets. One sister: Dottie Grace Snyder.

He attended the one room school at Brushy Fork, and had served with the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a woodsman and coal miner having worked for the late Bill Minear. He worked for the former Parsons’ Tannery, the Kingsford Charcoal Company at Parsons; and the Laurel Run Coal Mine, at Grant County. He retired from the Poe Run Lumber Company; and was an avid outdoors man.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens at Elkins, WV.
