EDDIE RAY “DEACON” KIMBLE, age 81 years, a native of Tucker County, WV and more recently a resident of Greenwood, DE departed this life Friday evening, March 29, 2013 at the University of Maryland Medical Center at Baltimore, MD.

He was born Monday, October 26, 1931 at Hambleton, WV a son of the Jacob L. Kimble and Clara Belle Rhoades Young Kimble. On October 2, 1965 at Red House, MD., he was married to the former Ada Bell Lycliter, who preceded him in death July 18, 2012.

Surviving are one daughter, Janice Rae Kimble of Idaho; one sister, Betty Ellen Hayes of Indiana; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are one son, David Edward Kimble; six brothers, John, Herb, Roy, Charlie and Ernest Young, and Wilbert “Web” Kimble; and two sisters, Nellie Young Summerfield and Rose Young Turner.

He attended the schools of Tucker County. He was a Veteran of the United States Airforce, serving during the Korean Conflict. He served twenty one years in the military from September 18, 1950 to June of 1971. He was a former employee of Anchor Motor Freight. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter.\

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Pastor Allen Dale Crosten will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV, where the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion, the Tygart Valley Post #3647 Veterans of Foreign War and the Tucker Co. Veterans Assoc. will conduct full military honors.
