Edith L. Knicely Hall, 87, of Diana, died Friday, June 6, 2003, in Webster Continuous Care in Cowen following an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 22, 1915, in Cleveland, a daughter of the late James Knicely and Elizabeth Mitchell Knicely.

She married Hayward Hall, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald Hall and Mark Hall, both of Diana; one daughter, Doris Nocida of Sistersville; one brother, Herbert Knicely of Maysville; one sister, Elnora Morris of Bentree; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lela M. Hall, Bessie Hanshaw, Irene Knicely, Lena B. Hall and Norma J. Green; and a brother, Howard Knicely.

She was a homemaker.

She was a lifelong resident of Webster County.

She was a member of the Holly River Baptist Church in Diana, where she sang in the church choir.

She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Friends will be received at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Conrad Tenney of French Creek officiating.

Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin
