Edna Florence Martin Hensley, 66, a resident of 99 11th St., Elkins, passed away Monday, April 1, 2002, at 5:30 p.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past six days. She had been in failing health for the past several years.

She was born March 25, 1936, at Elkins, a daughter of the late John and Mary Wyatt Martin.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were one granddaughter, Carol Sue Stewart; three grandsons, Danny Jr., Joshua and Toby; two sisters, Lenora “Nora” Smith and Helen Kleinfelder; and one brother, Harry Martin.

Surviving are six daughters, Lois England and Gilbert of Elkins, Lillie “Margie” Hensley and Freddy of Valley Bend, Sheila Hensley and Jimmy of Elkins, Karen Gardner and Melvin of Montrose, Valerie Guevera and Jamie of Bangor, Maine, and Penny Gambrel and Don of Pineville, Ky.; one son, Eddie Hensley of Glen Burnie, Md.; one sister, Jessie Spring of Jackpot, Nev.; two brothers, John Martin Jr. of Pasadena, Md., and William “Bill” Martin of Glen Burnie, Md.; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Hensley of Baltimore, Md.; and a close Christian friend, Mary Jane Henthorne of Elkins.

Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker and had attended the New Life Fellowship Church. She attended the schools of Randolph County and was a Pentecostal by faith.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel today after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dave Collins, pastor of Harts Chapel Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins.
