Eleanor Collett Pritt Phillips 1933-2002 Obituary
Eleanor Collett Pritt Phillips, 69, a resident of Sugar Creek Road, Beverly for the past 44 years, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 9, 1933, at Beverly, a daughter of the late Blair and Ruth Fawley Collett.
She was twice married, first to Bruce Pritt, who preceded her in death in 1975.
In 1978, she was married to Harold L. Phillips, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Surviving are one son, Jimmie Pritt and wife, Christy, of Charleston; one daughter, Judy King of Beverly; four stepchildren, Carolyn Phillips Korntop and husband, Paul, of the Harpertown community, Donna Jean Phillips Ware and husband, Larry, of Elkins, James Lorlin Phillips and wife, Betty, of Belington, and Jerry Phillips of Elkins.
Also surviving are one brother, Dennis Collett of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Delores Jean Varner of Beverly; four grandchildren, Amy Burke of London, Ohio, Sara Pritt of Eugene, Ore., Shawn and Derick Isner, both of Beverly; two stepgrandchildren, Amanda Ware and Chad Ware, both of Elkins; and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Burke.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a caregiver for the disabled. She cared for Martha Bright for 31 years and Ethel Iski for 21 years.
At the request of the deceased, her remains were donated to the Human Gifts Registry at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Corp., 629 North Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of West Virginia, 111 Hale St., Charleston, W.Va. 25301. Friends will be received Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Neil Parsons and Dr. Marvin L. Parli officiating.
