Eleanor Louise Currence Stalnaker 1924-2002

Eleanor Louise Currence Stalnaker, 78, a resident of 402 Center St. in Elkins, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at 6:40 a.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Friday. She had been in failing health for the past several months, however her condition had worsened since October.

She was born April 23, 1924, in Beverly, a daughter of the late Jacob and Leah Rush Currence.

She was united in marriage to Calvin Stalnaker, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1987.

Surviving are two daughters, Bertie Stalnaker and Helen Stalnaker; one son, William Stalnaker, all at home; one sister, Helen Bolyard of Morgantown. Also surviving are two nephews, William Bolyard and Robert Bolyard; and several cousins.

She was a homemaker. She attended the Homestead and Beverly Schools. She formerly attended the Elkins Church of the Nazarene.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Terry Burgess, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Eleanor Louise Currence Stalnaker.
