Elsie Rose Dolly Thompson 1923-2002 Obituary

Elsie Rose Dolly Thompson, 78, a resident of the Pheasant Run community and for the past four years a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, departed this life Saturday morning, May 4, 2002, at the home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to diabetes.

She was born Aug. 14, 1923, at Onego, a daughter of the late Henry Clay Dolly and Dora Dessie Kisamore Dolly.

She was married to Clyde Jackson Thompson, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Hancel Jackson “Hank” Thompson, Elkins; one daughter, Comonia Rose Channels and husband, Floyd, Pheasant Run; one sister, Emma Belton, Pheasant Run; four grandchildren, Steven C. Channels, Florida, Windy R. Williams, Kerens, Bryan J. Thompson, Fairmont, and Justin S. Thompson, Pheasant Run; and two grandchildren, Austin C. Channels, Fla., and Taylor R. Williams, Kerens.

Preceding her in death is one sister, Erma Mae Channels.

She attended the Riverview School at Shavers Fork. She was a member of Irons Chapel United Methodist Church at Pheasant Run and was a homemaker.

Friends will be received at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mrs. Thompson will be moved to Irons Chapel Church, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. J. Michael Lantz will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers Fork.
