Elva M. Hinkle, 71, a resident of Crystal Springs Community, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1930, at Flint, a daughter of the late Michael and Ruby Blankenship Holenchick.

On Sept. 5, 1948, in Oakland, Md., she was married to Robert K. Hinkle, who survives in Crystal Springs.

Also surviving are one son, John Ray Hinkle, Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Ronnie (Connie Jane) Kemrite and Mrs. Jim (Lynn Ann) Ritter, both of Elkins; three brothers, Robert Holenchick, John Holenchick and Charles Holenchick, all of Salem, Ohio; three sisters, Lucille Smith, Elizabeth May and Theresa Houchins, all of Salem, Ohio; two grandsons, Corey and Alex Ritter.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Michael Holenchick Jr.; and one half brother, William Hull.

Mrs. Hinkle was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Elkins.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the church with the Rev. Dr. Ellis E. Conley and the Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to Mt. Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements.
