EMMA MARIE DOLLY BELTON1921-2010 Obituary

EMMA MARIE DOLLY BELTON, age 88 years, a resident of the Pheasant Run Community, Kerens, WV, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 28, 2010 at the Davis Memorial Hospital

She was born Tuesday, May 3, 1921 at Onego, WV, Pendleton Co., a daughter of the late Henry Clay Dolly and Dora Dessie Kisamore Dolly. On January 12, 1950 at Pheasant Run, Kerens, WV, she was united in marriage to Clarence Vernon Belton, who preceded her in death January 28, 1967.

Surviving are one daughter, Lovanna Beth Shahan and husband Rusty of Pheasant Run, one grandson, Chad Vernon Summerfield and wife Rachel of Hudson, FL; and Twin great grandsons, Chad William and Chace Eugene Summerfield of Hudson, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two sisters, Erma Channel and Elsie Thompson.

She attended the Riverview School and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1940. She worked as a Loom Runner for the former Dorman Mills for over twenty five years and was employed at the former Parsons Shoe Plant, where she retired. She was a member of the Irons Chapel Church and she served as the Church Treasurer for over twenty five years. Emma was an avid gardener, attended many auctions and she loved her church, family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 8 PM. On Sunday, May 2, 2010, Mrs. Belton will be moved to the Irons Chapel Church where friends may call from noon until 1 PM. the funeral hour. The Rev. J. Michael Lantz will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
