OBITUARY: ERNESTINE HOPE MCDONALD Ernestine hope McDonald, 77, of Belington, died Friday, February 25, in the Davis Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born December 23, 1933, at Dartmoor, the daughter of the late Homer Trusler and the late Mona (Hymes) Trusler. On October 12, 1962, she married Veldon “Joe” McDonald, who survives at their home in Belington. Surviving are four daughters, Paula White and husband William Terry, Rachelle White and companion David, both of Belington, Kim Mullenex and fiancé Christopher, North Carolina, and Pamela S. James and companion Reggie, of Florida; two sisters Rosalie Ryzewski, Pennsylvania, and Jo Ann Cross, Charles town; seven grandchildren, Cieara (White) Harper and husband Adam, Zachary and Isaiah White, Angel, Little Donnie, and James Mullenex, and Dakota White, three great grandchildren, Rylee Harper, little Ricky and Caitlyn Everson. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Harris, a half sister, Margaret Hymes Bennett, two half brothers, Marshall and Arthur Hymes, and by one grandchild, Aimee Everson. Mrs. McDonald was a 1951 graduate of Belington High School. She had worked for Reidbord Brothers Sewing Factory and volunteered at Heart and Hand. She was proud to have grown up on a farm in Dartmoor. She was very active in her church and loved spending time with family. She enjoyed canning, writing poems, and gardening. Her family described her as a woman who was very lovable and was liked by all who met her. She was Pentecostal by faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 1, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. Pastor Wayne Freeman and the Rev. Bob Ware will officiate and interment will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Tuesday. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
