Ernestine L. Rice 1920-2002 Obituary
Ernestine L. Rice, 81, of 24 Carol St., Buckhannon, died Monday, April 8, 1002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
Mrs. Rice was born May 16, 1920, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Henry Dyre and Lucy Riffe Gum.
On April 15, 1955, she married Esker Wayne Rice, who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1990.
Surviving are one daughter, Patty Frisby, Buckhannon; one sister, Elanora Braden, Akron, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sandi Peck, Buckhannon, and Kathy Sims, Florence, S.C.; two grandsons, Scott Jack and Patrick Jack, both of Buckhannon; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Rice was a homemaker. She attended Tennerton United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ellis Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
