OBITUARY: ETHEL ELIZABETH MORRIS Ethel Elizabeth Morris, 94, of Brownton, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clarksburg, following an extended illness. She was born August 2, 1919, at Simpson, Taylor County, a daughter of the late Gordie and Hazel (Matheny) Mayle. Her husband, henry Carl Morris, preceded her in death on January 23, 1965. Surviving are two sons, Bobby Lee “Bob” Morris, Stonewood, Darrel “Ray” Morris, Cleveland, Oh.; two grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Gaskins, Brian (Karen) Morris; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Claire Gaskins; one sister, Beulah Richardson, Algonac, Mich., one brother, Ronald Mayle, Baldwin, Fla. She was also preceded in death by one son, Carl David Morris and by three brothers, Selvy Mayle, Ray Lee Mayle and Harold Mayle. Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and attended the Brownton Pentecostal Church of God where she had been a Sunday School teacher. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Marvin Brown will officiate and interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Saturday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
