Ethel “Mammy” Virginia Funk, 87, of Rowlesburg died Dec. 17, at home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Tucker County, a daughter of the late Lonzo T. and Melissa E. Jones Bohon.

She is survived by a son Paul A. Funk of Rowlesburg; a daughter, Ruby M. Baumgardner of Rowlesburg; a foster daughter, Betty Knickely of Parsons; five grandchildren, Lonnie De Witt of Holiday, FL, Bonnie Hill of Terra Alta, Michael DeWitt of Hurricane, Sherry Burke and Mitzi Sanders of Rowlesburg, a foster granddaughter, Sondra Pingley of Dailey; nien great-grandchildren, Toni Cambell of TN, Kristle DeWitt of Holiday, Shelby Hill of Morgantown, Kelli Andrew of Philippi, Zachary DeWitt and Micayla DeWitt of Hurricane, Waylon Burke, Shasta Burke and Perry Sanders of Rowlesburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira A. (Pappy) Funk, a grandchild, Christina De Witt, four brothers, Oney, Toney, Pete and an infant brother, Cecil Bohon; five sisters, Clara Shaffer, Ethel Bohon, Plessy Moreland, Jaunita Bohon, Icie Bohon and a half-sister Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bohon.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Rowlesburg and had worked as an aide at Hopemont State Hospital for 14 years.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Friends were received at Browning Funeral Home, Rowlesburg. Mrs. Funk was moved to the Christ United Methodist Church in Rowlesburg Dec. 20 where Rev. Sam Haught officiated. Interment followed in the Red Rock Cemetery.
