EVA LOUISE STOUT Eva Louise Stout, 88, of Brush Fork Community, died Tuesday, March 22, in the United Hospital Center, following a brief illness. She was born January 21, 1923, on Falls Run, Harrison County, a daughter of the late Leondis and Rebecca Jane (Adams) Cain. On July 8, 1941, she was married to Harry James Stout, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2009. Surviving are two sons, Harry J. “Jim” Stout II and Harlen J. “Joe” Stout and wife, Melissa, all of Bridgeport; three daughters, Belva Ewing, Bridgeport, Gladys Ferguson and husband, Curtis, Jane Lew; Lovie Jane Young and Nelson Bise, Stonewood; one brother, Orville B. Cain, Bridgeport; three sisters, Mary Reed, Galloway, Genevieve Costello and Rosie Cain, both of Flemington; eight grandchildren, John Michael (Karen) Purkey, Sandra Kay (John) Cunningham, Marcus Scott (Theresa) Purkey, James Cline (Patty) Morris II, W-3 Woodrow Keith (Donna) Purkey U.S.N., Timothy D. (Erin) Daugherty, Joseph Michael (Stacy) Stout, Lora Lea (Jason) Hebb; four step-grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” (Karen) Clifton, Dawna Tenny, Jimmy (Jaime) Williamson, and Brian Bennett, 32 great grandchildren; friends, Pam Stout and Debbie Phillips and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Wilson, Mildred Marie Propst and Vernie Flanagan, by two brothers, James Cain and Edward Cain; a granddaughter, Pamela Gay Morris and a great granddaughter, Shelby Jade Cunningham. Mrs. Stout was a homemaker. She was a 50 member of the Brushy Fork C.E.O.S.; a member of the Mt. Tabor E. U. B. Church and attended the Gospel Barn Assembly. She was an avid cook, quilter, crocheter, crafter, flower gardener and bird watcher. She always made Sunday dinner for her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 26, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Jim Davis will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, from 9:00 A. M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour on Saturday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
