Eva P. Hoover Strader 1906-2002

Eva P. Hoover Strader, 95, of 10 Trubie Run Road, Buckhannon, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1906, at Ten Mile, a daughter of the late Abraham and Rosalee Tenney Kelley. She was twice married, first to Charles Huston Hoover, who preceded her in death, and then to John Quincy Strader, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Causbie Tenney and husband, Emery, of Buckhannon; one son, Mason Hoover and wife, Annabell, Tallmansville; one sister, Lillie Rowan, Brushy Fork; and two daughters-in-law, Della Hoover, Tallmansville, and Winnie Jean Hoover, Excelsior; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Troy Wayne Hoover and Ralph Huston Hoover; four sisters, Clara Naylor, Gertie Miller, Elizabeth Kelley and Nola Naylor; three brothers, Lonnie Kelley, Paul Kelley and Willie Kelley; one grandson, Rickey Wayne Hoover; and a great-grandson, Richard Hoover II.

Mrs. Strader was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received today at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Carus Campbell and the Rev. Brad Tenney will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
